How to Make an iPod Shuffle Use Windows Media Player Instead of iTunes
In order for your iPod Shuffle to work with Windows Media Player, you will need to download a plug-in that allows you to manage your iPod without iTunes. The plug-in is specifically made for Windows Media Player. It will work on Windows Media Player 11 or 12 and supports many iPod devices, including three generations of the Shuffle.

Download the converter plug-in by going to mgtek.com/dopisp. The plug-in costs $20, but you will be able to manage all the music you have with their free 30-day trial. If you plan to use Windows Media Player for your iPod Shuffle for as long as you own it, then you should consider purchasing the plug-in.

Connect your iPod Shuffle to your computer using the USB cable that came with your iPod Shuffle.

Open Windows Media player.

Sync your iPod Shuffle with your Windows Media Player. Click the "Sync" button. You can now manage your iPod with Windows Media Player. You can drag and drop songs to and from your library as you please.

You can easily add music from the Media Player to your Shuffle. Click on a song in your library and drag it to your "Sync" list. Click on "Start Sync." Once it finishes, your Windows Media Player music will be added to your iPod.
