1
Create a plan by determining your kitchen bar's location, calculating all measurements and assessing the amount of materials you will need, such as wood, nails, screws and paint. Buy as much plywood and shelving as your space allows. You can always take some back if you don't use it. Determine the most logical place to put your bar based on your specific needs and preferences. Buy materials from a hardware store.

2
Measure, mark and cut your plywood with a circular saw so all of your pieces are ready to assemble.

3
Protect your eyes by wearing safety goggles. Put the base together by nailing together your large pieces of plywood, according to your measurement specifications. Build the base that will be the main frame of your eat-in kitchen bar. Use the level to ensure that all of your pieces are straight and level. If your floor is uneven you may need to purchase some type of spacer or wedge to even out the main frame.
-
4
Assemble shelving based on your measurements, then attach shelving brackets with wood glue and nails inside the main frame. Use screws for extra support when attaching.
-
5
Place trim around the edges of the main frame, using the brad nailer.
-
6
Align the posts, place wood glue on the top of each and use a screw gun to attach the posts from the top of the main frame of the bar. Ensure that the post legs and main frame are even with the floor. Let dry for at least 12 hours to let the glue set.
-
7
Attach a panel of plywood (or another type of wood, such as pine) to the back of the main frame to cover any screws or nails that may be showing.
-
8
Sand the entire unit, then prime and paint it. Add stools or any other chairs that you want to go with your new eat-in kitchen bar.
