How to End a Listing on eBay

eBay is a popular auction website. You can bid for and purchase items of all types from companies or people. For sellers, eBay makes it easy for your to market and sell your product. If for some reason you want to end a listing earlier than the auction date you set, you can do so.

Instructions

      Logon to your eBay account. Place the cursor on "My Ebay" on the top right corner and click "Selling" in the drop-down box.

      Select the item that you want to remove from the auction, and type the listing number on the "End my listing early" form.

      Confirm your email. If your item currently has bids, select the option you want to use to cancel the bids.
      If there are 12 hours or more remaining on your auction, choose "Cancel bids and end listing early" or "sell item to high bidder."
      If there are less than 12 hours remaining on your auction, select "Sell item to high bidder."

      Select the reason you want to cancel the listing and confirm your cancellation.

Tips & Warnings

  • Contact the bidders and explain the reason for canceling the listing if your listing does not meet the requirements for ending your auction-style listing early. Explaining the situation may encourage them to cancel their bids.

  • You can end a listing early as long as there aren't any cancelled bids.

  • To end your listing early, you must sell your item to the highest bidder if there are 1 or more bids
