How to Delete Email History on a PC

Learning how to delete your email history from your PC can help maintain your privacy.       Open the Internet Explorer browser and then select the "Tools" menu located at the upper-left part of the screen. A separate menu will appear. Select "Internet Options" on the menu and another window will be provided for you. On the right side of this window, click the "Clear History" button.

      Open your Mozilla Firefox browser and select the "Tools" menu. Click "Options" on the pop-up window that appears, select the "Privacy" tab, and then click "Clear."

      Click the "Start" menu located at the lower-left side of your screen. Open "Control Panel" and select "Network and Internet Connections." Proceed by selecting a Control Panel icon labeled "Internet Options." A new window will appear. Select the "General" tab and click "Clear History" at the bottom part of the window. Click "OK" when the computer asks if you wish to delete all of the items in your history folder.

      Disable the saving of history files in Mozilla Firefox. To do so, click on the "Tools" tab and then select "Options." At the upper portion of the pop-up window, select "Privacy." Be sure the boxes under "History" are left blank and click "OK."

      Disable the saving of history files in Internet Explorer. Open the Internet browser and choose the "Tools" option at the upper portion of the window. Select "Internet Options" and then the "General" tab. Under "History," enter the number "0" in the "Days to Keep Pages in History."

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also delete Internet history in Internet Explorer by pressing Ctrl + H. This will open a small window on the left side of Internet Explorer that displays your browsing history. Delete all folders until everything is cleared.
