How to Make an Angle Sign on a Keyboard
Many mathematical symbols are missing from the standard Windows typing fonts, and the angle sign is a prominent example of this. The angle symbol, looking something like a bent "L," is not contained in the standard typing fonts because of the limited room for letters and symbols in each font, and because the symbol is rarely needed for general use. Make an angle sign on a keyboard using the Windows Character Map.

Launch the Windows Character Map. This program can be found under "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools."

Click the drop-down menu next to "Font" in the Character Map. Select the Symbol font. If you do not have the Symbol font installed, see Resources for a download link.

Locate the angle sign within the Symbol font. The angle sign has character code 0xD0; it is in the lower-right portion of the Character Map when the scroll bar is at the top of the window.

Click the angle sign, then click the "Select" button.

Click the "Copy" button.

Right-click in the window where you are typing, and click "Paste." The angle symbol appears at the location of the cursor.
