How to Print Envelopes in Vista

Windows Vista is an efficient operating system that lets you do many things that will make your computing life simpler. One of the things that Vista allows is the printing of envelopes, with the help of a word processing application. Installing printer drivers on Windows makes it possible to send the envelops and labels created in word processing programs to print out with ease. Windows Vista has a plug-and-play function that starts to install the drivers for the printer automatically as soon as you plug it in.

Instructions

Connect a printer to your computer and allow Vista to install the drivers for it. If the "Install New Hardware" process does not start automatically, click on "Start" and "Control Panel" to open the Control Panel. Click on "View devices and printers." On the next page, click on "Add a printer" at the top of the page. Choose if you are adding a local printer (a printer connected directly to your computer) or a network printer (one that connects through a wireless or a network connection). Follow the instructions on the wizard to finish adding the printer.

Create the envelopes and/or labels in a word processing program, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Works or WordPerfect. Set up the document just the way you wanted it printed out.
