      Download the freeware Video Converter for Mac. You can find it by opening your Web browser and typing "http://www.applemacvideo.com/mac-video-converter.html" into your URL. To download, simply press the "Free Download" button.

      Click on the disc image file to install Video Converter for Mac. Once installed, double click the Video Converter icon to launch the program.

      Select the "Add Files" button at the top of the window. Locate the WMV file you wish to convert. Double click it to select it. You can also drag and drop the WMV file into the Video Converter for Mac window.

      Select the output format for the video. Use the Format drop-down menu to select "Common Video" and then "MPEG-4 Movie(*.mp4)." This is the proper iMovie format.
