Instructions

    • 1

Place your MRE packages in boxes or a hard plastic container to protect them from rodents and other pests. Plastic containers will also help protect your MRE's from any moisture damage.

    • 2

Select a dry, dark place for storage. Keep the the MRE's out of direct sunlight to help prolong their storage life.

    • 3

Maintain a consistent temperature in the storage area. Temperature variations can degrade the quality of the MRE. For the longest shelf life, keep the temperature at 60 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature will provide you with 130 months of safe storage for your MRE's.

Tips & Warnings

  • The warmer the temperature in your storage area, the shorter the overall shelf life of your MRE's.

  • Freezing MRE's results in the need to handle them as you would any other food purchased at a grocery store, consuming them right after they are thawed. They lose their long-term shelf life once thawed.
