How to Combine Holy Basil & Ashwagandha

Holy basil, also known as tulsi, and ashwaganda are used in ayurvedic medicine. Both herbs contain anti-inflammatory agents that have powerful effects on the body. Ashwaganda enhances immunity and might help to kill cancer cells. Holy basil helps to enhance detoxification so the the body can eliminate toxins. Together, these herbs create an overall health tonic that can soothe anxiety and fight disease and toxicity in the body. Both herbs can be difficult to find locally but can be purchased online at stores such as Mountain Rose Herbs. • 2

Measure out one-half a teaspoon of holy basil leaf per tea cup, and add it to your tea ball. Use your spoon to mix the holy basil evenly through the ashwagandha.

    • 3

Add one-fourth teaspoon of ground Rhodiola rosea root to your tea ball. Mix it evenly with the ashwaganda and holy basil. Rhodiola is an excellent addition to your herbal blend because it helps to reduce fatigue due to stress and protects the heart from damage caused by stress.
