The veterinarian may prescribe the dog K9 Advantix which is a flea medication for dogs. It is a liquid that you put on the dog's skin every month to rid it of the fleas. You will notice a difference the next day.

Separate the fur between your dog's shoulder blades to reveal the skin.

Squeeze the contents from the tube directly on the bare skin. Apply three to four spots in even amounts. If the dog is less than 20 lbs. apply only one spot.

Advantix is supposed to be used once a month, year-round.
Do not use on cats.
