How to Tie Vans Sneakers

When you have a cool pair of Vans, the last thing you want to tie them the old-fashioned way. One of the most popular methods for tying Vans sneakers is the bar lacing method, which creates straight bar laces from eyelet to eyelet. The laces coming up from under the eyelets can make tying them a bit of a challenge. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Draw the even ends of your laces tight so that your shoe fits snugly to your foot.

    • 2

Cross the right lace over the left, creating an "X," and tuck the end of the right lace into the bottom triangle of the "X." Pull the right lace through the triangle, creating a knot.

    • 3

Pull the laces tight but not so tight you can't comfortably move your foot. Make a loop with the right lace at the base of the knot you created.

    • 4

Draw the left lace in a loose circle around the base of the right-lace loop, leaving your thumb in the center to create a hole. Pull the looped end of the left lace through the hole.

    • 5

Pull the two loops tight together at the top of your shoe.

Tips & Warnings

  • Test out the tightness by walking around for a few seconds. A shoe tied too tightly may interfere with your ability to walk, run, jump or perform other activities.
