How to Remove Tomato Stains (Catsup, Pasta Sauce) from Clothes
Whenever you get a tomato-based stain on your clothes, try this method first before you do anything else. This method of stain removal works for most types of stains--as long as you do this before you do anything else. Whatever you do, try not to set the stain by drying the stained clothing in a hot dryer or rinsing it in hot water. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Run cold water over the tomato stain to get it wet.
-
2
Rub the stain with a bar of plain soap, such as Ivory soap, or a liquid hand soap (foaming or otherwise). Use your fingers to gently rub the soap into the stained area to create a lather. Gently rub the material on itself.

3
Rinse the soap out, and check to see if the stain is gone. If it isn't completely gone, repeat until the process again.
-
4
If the stain is still not gone, use a little chlorine bleach if the fabric is white. If the fabric is not white, use a litle color-safe bleach. Wash the fabric in the washer in cold water following label directions.

5
As alternative to bleaching in the washer is laying the clothing outside in the sunlight. The sun will bleach the clothing and the stain should disappear.

Tips & Warnings
Whenever you get a stain, rinse it immediately in cold water. If you don't have time to hand-wash, put the clothing in a bucket of cold water with some gently soap and let it sit until you have time to hand wash the stain.
Never, ever wash a stain in hot water or dry in a hot dryer. Instead of removing the stain, the heat will set the stain permanently.
