How to Adjust Word Doc Date Stamps

A date stamp can be added and changed in documents created in Microsoft Word, a word processing software developed by Microsoft. The date stamp can display the year, month, date and time. A date stamp can be automatically updated each time the document is opened, or it can be permanent.

      Place the blinking text cursor in your Word document at the spot where you want to enter the date stamp.

      Click the "Insert" menu, and then click "Date and Time."

      A window will pop up with various options for inserting a date stamp. On the left, available formats are displayed, and the language can be changed with the drop-down menu on the right. Choose the format with the date and time display you wish to use, and choose the language you wish to use.

      If you want the date stamp to be updated automatically every time you open the document, check the "Update automatically" box.
