How to Make Baby Shower Decorations & Washcloth Roses
Decorations are a big part of a successful baby shower, as they set the mood and tone. Using baby items to decorate works well because they are adorable and functional---the mom-to-be can put them to good use once the baby arrives. Every woman loves roses, and ones made out of baby washcloths serve a dual purpose---making them that much more special. Putting together washcloth roses and centerpieces is simple to do and adds a special touch to your baby bash. Does this Spark an idea?

Washcloth Roses
-
1
Lay a baby washcloth flat. Fold it in half, then fold in half again so you have a long, thin fold to work with.
-
2
Starting at one end, roll the washcloth tightly all the way to the other, angling the rolling so you have a short, thick roll that exposes the edges of the layers like the petals of rose.
-
-
3
Poke a straight pin into the ends of the roll to hold it in place. Pull the center of the roll upward so the layers are more pronounced and look like the layers of a rose.
-
4
Remove the flowers from silk flowers so you are left with the plastic stems. Place a piece of double-stick tape on the top inch or two of the plastic stem. Poke the plastic stem into the rolled washcloth flower.
-
5
Repeat Steps 1-4 for each washcloth rose you'd like to make.
Washcloth Rose Centerpiece
-
6
Make several washcloth roses as outlined in the first section.
-
7
Choose a container for your roses, such as a pretty vase, basket or glass bowl. Themed items, such as an antique tea kettle for a tea party shower theme, also work well.
-
8
Place the washcloth roses in the container and arrange them as you see fit. Fill the bottom of the container with baby items such as socks, pacifiers, bows (for girls) and mittens.
-
9
Wrap a ribbon in a coordinating color to the shower's theme or concept around the container and tie in a bow. Set out on the table to serve as both decor and a gift for the mom-to-be.
