How to Identify an ATI Graphics Card

It is important to be able to accurately identify the specific designer of your graphics card. Not only is it important so that the correct driver software can be obtained, but also when designing multi GPU (Graphics Procesing Unit) gaming computers which require identical graphics cards for proper operation. The process of identifying whether your graphics card was designed by ATI is an easy procedure which any computer user can accomplish.

Instructions

1. Right-click the Windows desktop. This will produce a standard context menu.

2. Left-click the "Properties" heading within the context menu. This will produce a properties window with your computer's monitor and desktop configuration.

3. Review the information just below the monitor illustration. There will be a string that identifies the monitor and graphics card currently used by the desktop. This string will read in this format "(Monitor name) being run on (Graphics card name)," for example, "Viewsonic being run on ATI Radeon x300."
