How to Change the Fonts of the Tab Control in Windows Explorer

Save

Windows Explorer tabs use a default font, but it is possible to change it. Whether you want to change it for fun or better visibility, doing so is easy and quick. You will also have the option to change the colors of the tabs and the size of the font itself. All it takes is a few clicks of the mouse for you to set yourself up with the font of your choice.

  • Turn on your computer, and let the desktop show. Right-click anywhere on your computer wallpaper, and click on "Properties." This will access the display properties.

  • Click over to the tab labeled "Appearance," and click the "Advanced" option button.

  • Access the drop-down list, and select the "Icon" option. You will now be able to see the font drop-down arrow. Click it, and choose whichever font from the list that you'd like.

  • Click "OK" to exit the Advanced Appearance box and then "OK" again to close the Properties box. Your settings will be saved and effective immediately.
