How to Troubleshoot a Kohler Faucet

Kohler creates a line of kitchen and bathroom fixtures and faucets that are modern, sleek and stylish. Troubleshooting a Kohler faucet is not much different than troubleshooting most other name-brand faucets. All you need are some instructions and cleaning supplies.

Instructions

1. Check the spray head on the Kohler faucet to determine if it is leaking from the threaded connection. See if the plating is peeling or cracked. If it is, replace the spray head.

2. Examine the valve to see if it is leaking. Order a new valve if you find a leak.

3. Check the Kohler faucet side spray to see if it is working properly. If too much water comes out when you press the side spray lever, replace the diverter in the faucet.

4. Look at the plug on the faucet. If the plug has fallen off, order a replacement plug button from Kohler.

5. Test the aerator on the Kohler faucet. If it is broken or the finish has deteriorated, replace it. If the aerator is dirty or clogged, clean it by taking the spray head off the faucet and soaking it in a 50:50 mix of white vinegar and water.

6. Examine the Kohler faucet valve cartridge to see if it is locked in place. If so, it is most likely due to a buildup of mineral deposits. Remove the cartridge, and soak it in a 50:50 solution of water and white vinegar.
