How to Apply Bare Minerals Makeup With a Cosmetics Brush

Bare Minerals, sold by Bare Escentuals, is a powder-based foundation and cosmetics line that's been heavily advertised on late-night television over the years. The manufacturer suggests purchasing a starter kit with two foundations, brushes an instructional DVD and more, but it is also fine to simply buy the products individually. The makeup can be applied lightly or with a heavier hand for full coverage of blemishes. The company says it's so pure and gentle that it won't harm your skin if you sleep with it on. Powder foundation can be tricky to apply until you get the hang of it.

Instructions

1. Wash your face and gently pat dry before applying your foundation.

2. Apply any desired moisturizers or primers, as well as any needed concealer for dark circles or blemishes.

3. Pour a small amount of Bare Minerals foundation into the cap of the container. Swirl the cosmetics brush through the powder. Tap the brush handle gently against the cap to drop any excess foundation.

4. Buff the makeup onto your face using circular strokes and working from the outer edges in.

5. Apply any desired blush or bronzing products.

6. Set the look of your makeup, with translucent powder or Mineral Veil. Use the same brush technique to apply the final coat of powder.
