How to Fix Problems with Internet Explorer 8 with Vista

Internet Explorer 8 (IE) makes it easy for you to search and browse the web. With IE, you can download add-ons that allow you to perform a variety of features on your browser, including video playback, 3D display and file download management. Damaged IE8 files can cause browser errors and problems. A few troubleshooting steps and guidelines, however, can help repair your browser and improve performance.

      Click the "Tools" menu located on the top of your IE8 browser and click "Internet Options."

      Click the "Advanced" tab and click "Reset." Click "Reset" again in the "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" box. When the reset process completes, restart your web browser.

      Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 and reinstall a fresh copy if you are still having problems. To do so, click the Windows "Start" menu on the desktop and click the "Control Panel."

      Click "Programs" and click "Program and Features." Click "View installed updates." Click "Internet Explorer 8" and click "Uninstall." When the un-installation process completes, restart your computer.
