How to Make a Seashell Night Light
If you want to add the beach and light to a room, then try making your own seashell night light. Basic night lights add an extra ambiance to rooms, but incorporating seashells will add flare. Small accents such as night lights add finishing touches to rooms decorated with a theme. Make your own customized seashell night light by choosing a flat seashell from a vacation, craft store or your local beach.

1
Choose flat seashells for the night light. Flat seashells stick better to the fastener clip. Use shells such as sand dollars and scallops.
-
2
Clean the seashells before using them. If you collect fresh shells from the beach, remove the sand and dirt by washing them under warm water. Sand dollars need to be bleached white, which requires placing a cap of bleach in one gallon of water and immersing the shells in the solution for 5 to 10 minutes. Seashells bought from the store will need to be cleaned to ensure that the glue sticks to the shells.

3
Place the shells on a towel to dry. Allow the seashells to dry completely before continuing to make the night light.
-
4
Pour a small amount of epoxy glue on a paper plate. Remove the shade fastener from the night light. Place a small amount of glue on the front of the fastener with a craft stick.
-
5
Press the seashell firmly on the glue for 10 to 15 seconds. Allow the glue to dry completely. Once the glue finishes drying, plug the night light into the wall.

Tips & Warnings
Do not leave the seashells sit in the bleach solution for too long or they will crumble.
