How to Transfer Itouch Apps

The iPod Touch doesn't have the storage capacity of the iPod Classic -- 8GB, 32GB and 64GB versus 160GB -- and it isn't as compact as the iPod Nano -- 4.3 inches long, 2.4 inches wide and .33 inches deep versus 3.6 inches long, 1.5 inches wide and .24 inches deep. But what makes the Touch stand out from those iPod models are the apps that it can run -- at the touch of a finger you can access recipes, stock quotes and virtually anything else you can imagine. Those apps can be downloaded through iTunes on a computer or on the iPod Touch itself and then be transferred between computer and iPod Touch.

Instructions

  1. Transferring Apps to an iPod Touch

    • 1

Connect your iPod Touch to your computer with the supplied dock connector to USB cable. If iTunes doesn't launch automatically when your iPod Touch is connected to it, open iTunes manually on your computer.

    • 2

Click on the "Applications" option, below "Library" on the left side of the iTunes interface. This will bring up a list of all applications you've downloaded to your computer through the iTunes Store.

    • 3

Click on the app you want to transfer to your iPod. To transfer multiple apps, hold down the control button on a PC and the apple button on a Mac, and click on additional apps.

    • 4

Drag the highlighted app(s) to the iPod icon in the device list. The device list is located on the left side of iTunes, below "Library" and "Store."

    • 5

Release the mouse when the iPod icon becomes highlighted -- this will transfer the app(s) to your iPod Touch.
