How to Record a Video Conference Online
Online video conferencing simplifies the process of getting everyone in a company together, even if they are in different locations across the country or even the globe. When holding a video conference, it is possible to record the conference for future reference. This eliminates the need to take minutes during the conference and serves as a record of the conference. While some video conferencing companies offer a recording option in their conferencing packages, with some companies you must use a secondary service to record.

Use WebEx for your video conferencing. WebEx is an online conferencing service that provides not only the tools needed to execute a video conference, but also provides the necessary tools for recording the audio and video of the conference, as well as any notes.

Open the Recorder and Player for Recording Format feature of WebEx before beginning a video conference. Press the "Record" button before the conference begins and it will record everything.

Press the "Stop" button when the conference is finished. The Recorder will have captured anything that took place during the recording session.

Save the conference to the WebEx site. Forward the page to anyone who may have missed the conference and they will be able to view or download the entire conference.
Ecamm Conference Recorder for iChat

Download the Ecamm Conference Recorder. This recorder is designed to work with two popular communication applications, Skype, the free digital telephone calling system, and iChat, the video chatting service available on Macs.

Install the Ecamm Conference Recorder to your system by double-clicking the setup icon and following the screens through the setup process. The Conference Recorder will automatically be integrated into iChat and Skype.

Open iChat and click the red record button of the Ecamm Conference Recorder that appears below the iChat window before beginning the video conference. The Conference Recorder will capture everything that happens in the chat screen until the red button is pressed again.

Click the red button at the end of the conference. This will stop the recording.

Name the recorded video conference when prompted. Select a folder to which you like to save the conference, and the file will be saved as a QuickTime MOV file in the chosen location.

PalBee is a similar site to WebEx. It also offers video conferencing services with a built-in recorder.
The Ecamm Conference Recorder for iChat is no longer supported by the recorder's creator, but is still available for download and can still be used with iChat.
