How to Make a 5 Gallon Bucket Seat

A bucket seat if ideal for fishing, camping, bonfire, hunting and other outdoor activities where you don't want to stand the entire time. They are inexpensive, lightweight, easily portable and can be used as storage plus provide you with a place to sit and rest. Instead of buying, one in a store or online, save the money and make one yourself.

Things You'll Need

• 5-gallon bucket
• Kitchen chair cushion
• Fabric glue
• Non-slip pad

Instructions

1. Get an empty five-gallon bucket, or a five-gallon bucket, which you can empty, the contents.

2. Clean the empty bucket and check for any cracks, which could be a sign the bucket isn't strong or sturdy and should not be used as a seat.

3. Attach a non-slip pad to a kitchen chair cushion with fabric glue. This will help keep the cushion from slipping.

4. Turn the bucket upside down and place the cushion on top.

Tips & Warnings

• You can use the bucket to store things and when you need them, remove the cushion flip the bucket right side up, remove the lid and take out what you need, put the lid back on turn the bucket back upside down and replace the cushion.

• The seat is very easy to store in a trunk or in the back of an SUV, you can place the bucket in the bed of a truck and store the cushion behind or underneath the seat of a truck.

• In a bind the bucket seat can also be used for a toilet, as long as it isn't being used for storage or after the contents have been moved.
