How to Convert WAV to MID File
Music that's played with a MIDI or MID (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) sample has a distinct sound that is often considered unrealistic. When MIDI was first invented, it was cutting-edge. Today, the platform is still progressing and has many useful applications. Some software is able to interpret MIDI files (*.mid) into sheet music for other musicians to perform. By following a basic procedure, you can convert WAV files to MIDI files.

Download and Install the AmazingMIDI software from the link in References below.

After installing the software, run the program and choose "Input File"; browse to and select the WAV file that you want to convert.

By default, AmazingMIDI uses the piano1.wav setting for the instrument that your WAV file will be transcripted into. If you would like to change the instrument, you may do so by browsing for other instruments in the "Tone File" menu.

In the "Output File" section, browse to a folder and enter the name for the new MIDI file. By default, the file is saved to the installation directory of AmazingMIDI.

After the options are set, click the "Transcribe" button in the upper left-hand side of the window. It may take a few minutes to convert the file. After the conversion is complete, you have a new MIDI file that you can use for other tasks.
