How to Upgrade From IE5 to IE6

Browse to the Internet Explorer 6 download page using the link in the Resources section below. Click the "Download" button and save the file to your desktop.

Run the "ie6setup.exe" file to begin installing Internet Explorer 6.

Read the license agreement for Internet Explorer 6. If you agree to the terms, click "I accept the agreement" and click "Next."

Click "Next" to download the files required for the Internet Explorer 6 installation program. This process may take several minutes depending on the speed of your Internet connection. After the files are downloaded, Internet Explorer 6 will be installed automatically, and you will be prompted to restart your computer.

Click "Finish" to restart the computer and complete the installation. Note that the process of restarting the computer may take longer than normal because of the changes that are being made to the configuration of the computer.

Launch Internet Explorer when the desktop loads. Click "Help," then click "About Internet Explorer." The version number will be "6.0.2800.1106" or later.
