How to Remove the Belt From a Smooth Treadmill
If you need to replace your Smooth Treadmill walking belt or the motor drive belt, they can be easily removed. Always refer to your Smooth Treadmill user manual for instructions. There are some basic steps to follow to remove your treadmill belt.
Things You'll Need
- Screw drivers, Phillips and flat head or Allen wrenches to fit your particular treadmill
- 13 mm socket wrench
- 5.5 or 6mm T wrench
- Hex wrench for Smooth Treadmill

How to Remove a Treadmill Walking Belt

Refer to the instructions in your Smooth Treadmill user manual for specific directions.

Turn off the treadmill and unplug the power cord.

Remove the cover over the motor by loosening the screws or bolts that adjust the belt tension.

Push the back roller towards the deck; loosen the front roller and remove it. If your treadmill has an incline function, you can plug in the treadmill, turn on the power and incline the treadmill to help you remove the roller. Unplug the treadmill again before proceeding. Then remove the rear roller.

Remove the belt. Look for the bolts or screws that hold the deck in place and remove them.

Lift out the deck and the belt at the same time. The belt can then be slid off the deck.
How to Remove a Treadmill Motor Drive Belt

Turn off your treadmill and unplug the power chord.

Take off the cover to the treadmill motor by removing the nut and bolt from the right side of the front roller. Use a socket or T wrench to do this.

Locate and unscrew the screw on the left side of the treadmill; it should be behind the speed sensor on the frame.

Slide out and remove the front roller from the left side of the treadmill.

Locate and remove the old treadmill motor drive belt from the motor.
