How to Copy MP3 Music Files From PC to Laptop
You've just bought and downloaded a ton of MP3s. Now, you want to back them up to protect them from a computer malfunction or you simply want to transfer them to a laptop or another computer. Copying your MP3s from your PC to another laptop for safe keeping or for enjoyment on the road is a simple and easy to follow process.

Locate on the PC the MP3s you want to back up or copy to your laptop.

Select them by clicking and dragging your cursor around the MP3s to be copied. If you want to select more than one MP3, hold "CTRL" on your keyboard and click each one separately. They will remain highlighted as long as you hold CTRL.

Right click on the group of MP3s and click copy from the right-click menu.

Identify what source or destination drive you are going to copy your files to whether it be a flash drive, external hard drive or CD.

Plug the device into your computer and locate the drive under "My Computer" or "Computer." In most instances, when plugging in a new drive an autoplay prompt will pop up on your screen. In this case select "Open Folder to Browse Files" options.

Create a new folder entitled Music and right click on the folder and select paste from the right-click menu. The computer will take a moment to copy all of the desired files and will give you an on screen indicator of how long the process will take.

Right click on the CD/DVD Burner icon in My Computer, if you are using a CD to copy files to another computer. Select paste from the right-click menu. A balloon will appear in your system tray alerting you that there are files waiting to be written to a CD. Click the balloon or icon to name the CD and begin the burning process.

Remove the USB flash drive or external hard drive after the files have successfully copied to the source drive. Do this by right clicking on the drive in My Computer and selecting "Eject" from the men. This will safely eject the removable media.

Plug the USB flash drive or external hard drive into the laptop your are transferring the files to. If you opted to use a CD, insert the burned CD into the optical drive of your laptop.

Browse to the drive/CD you just inserted. Copy and paste the MP3s to the desired folder on your laptop.
