How to Eject an Unresponsive Disc from an iMac
The iMac is an all-in-one desktop computer from Apple. Instead of the mechanical tray-mounted CD/DVD drive found on many desktop computers, iMacs are equipped with electric slot-loading CD/DVD drives. Normally, discs can be ejected from the slot-loading drive by dragging the disc icon on the desktop to the dock or pressing the "Eject" button on the keyboard. If a disc becomes unresponsive and cannot be ejected by these methods, it needs to be ejected manually using the drive's manual eject button.
Instructions

1
Locate the manual eject hole found at the edge of the slot-loading disc drive.
-
2
Press the manual eject button within the hole by using a blunt object such as the end of a straightened paper clip or the tip of a mechanical pencil.
-
-
3
If the disc does not eject while holding the eject button, try using another disc to gently press against the disc in the drive.
-
4
Remove the disc from the drive once it is manually ejected from the slot-loading drive. Restart the computer before using the drive again.

Tips & Warnings
Certain iMac models do not have a manual eject button. Problems with slot-loading drives on iMacs without the eject button can be addressed by bringing the computer to your local Apple retail store.
Contact your local Apple retail store if the disc cannot be ejected using the manual eject button. Do not attempt to pry the disc out of the drive as this can damage your computer and void your warranty.
