How to Convert Mpeg4 to DVD Video

The MPEG-4 video format is highly regarded for use on portable computers, mobile devices like iPods and cell phones, but it is not compatible with the DVD video file format that is used by DVDs. Converting an MPEG-4 video file into an MPEG-2 DVD video file can be done using any of a number of free video conversion programs. The conversion will not affect the MPEG-4 file in any negative fashion.

  • An MPEG-2 DVD video file that is converted from a MP4 file will not have as high a video resolution as a native MPEG-2 file.
