1
Locate the drain plug on your pool and use it to drain the pool of water. It is a good idea to allow the pool to sit in the sun after all the water has drained. This will let the pool dry out and make it easier to dismantle.

2
Find the joint where the frame pool goes together and carefully pull the plastic pipe out of its holder. Remove each piece of piping as you dismantle the frame and set each frame piece aside. Try to keep each type of frame piece together--all of the long pieces in one pile, all of the "T" posts in one pile and all of the short pieces in a third pile.

Remove the pool panels and set them aside. Keep all the panels together. This will make it easier to put the pool back together next summer.

4
Make sure the bottom of the pool and the ground cover are completely dry, then carefully roll them up. Secure the ground cover with twine and place it in a plastic bag. You may want to slide a large garbage bag over each side of the ground cover and then secure the plastic bags with pieces of twine.

5
Locate the original box the pool came in and place as many pieces as possible back in that box. The frame pieces should fit into the original box but you may need to keep large pieces like the ground cover and pool cover in separate bags or boxes. Just make sure you keep all of the boxes together so it will be easier to set the pool up when you need it.

6
Place the filter and pump in their own box and keep them with the rest of the pool supplies. Mark each box so it will be easy to find and assemble your aboveground pool next season.
