How to Make a Motorola Bluetooth Earpiece Discoverable

Bluetooth has made the world of hands-free talking truly hands-free. Gone are the days when your hands-free talking included a wired earpiece that plugged into your mobile device. With a Bluetooth-enabled device and a any cell phone including Motorola, you can pair the two and have conversations with others while keeping your hands free to keep on the steering wheel. Before you can take advantage of this feature, however, you need to put your Motorola Bluetooth earpiece into discover mode so that your Bluetooth device can find and connect to it.

Things You'll Need

  • Motorola Bluetooth earpiece
  • Charger (supplied with earpiece)
  • Plug the charger for your Motorola Bluetooth earpiece into the wall outlet and connect it to the earpiece at the top of it. Allow your Bluetooth earpiece to charge for at least two hours before you attempt to connect it to your Bluetooth-enabled device.

  • Unplug your Bluetooth earpiece from the charger.

  • Turn the power off on your earpiece by pressing and holding the "Call" button – the button in the middle of the earpiece with the telephone on it – until the blue indicator light at the bottom of the earpiece turns off.

  • Press and hold the "Call" button on the earpiece for 6 to 10 seconds, or until the blue indicator light remains on. Your earpiece in now in discovery mode and you will be able to pair it to your Bluetooth-enabled device.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your Motorola Bluetooth earpiece can be paired with any Bluetooth-enabled device, including cell phones and video game systems.
  • If your earpiece is not set to discovery mode, your Bluetooth device will not be able to pair, find and connect.
