How to Change Visual Themes in Windows 2000 Professional
The Windows 2000 Professional operating system is popular for use on older computers that may not have the processing power necessary to run the latest versions of Windows. Part of the reason why Windows 2000 runs so well on older computers, however, is its simplistic user interface, which lacks some excitement. Nevertheless, Windows 2000 is not without customization options. Change the visual theme in Windows 2000 Professional by configuring the interface for a new color scheme.

Tips & Warnings
Windows 2000 does not come with the full interface skinning capability of newer Windows versions, like XP and Vista. To make a dramatic change to the Windows 2000 interface, a third-party program such as WindowBlinds, a link to which can be found in the "Resources" section, is required. However, it is important to be mindful of the fact that using an interface skinning program may reduce the performance of the operating system.
