1
Find two desks for your combination work/storage bench. The desks should be the same height and width, but don't necessarily have to be the same style. Something used is perfect.
-
2
Lightly sand the desks, and wipe off residue with a damp paper towel or rag.
-
-
3
Apply two coats of an oil-based paint primer using long brush strokes. After the primer is dry, apply two coats of white paint, allowing sufficient time to dry before applying the second coat.
-
4
Visit a hardware store and have a piece of white laminated wood cut with the following measurements: the width should be the length of both desks, and length should be approximately 48 inches, although this will be a personal preference. Purchase laminated tape to cover the cut edges of the laminated wood and apply via manufacturer's instructions.
-
5
Place the laminated wood on top of the finished desks to create a table format with the desks acting as table legs at each end of the laminated wood. Attach the wood to the desks from underneath using screws.

Tips & Warnings
Utilize the desks as storage by filling the drawers with work and craft supplies, and place a stool or chair at the desks and under the table as a work area.
