How to Add Support to a Sundress

Sundresses are comfortable and stylish pieces of clothing to wear in the summertime, but very few of them offer adequate bust support. Unfortunately, the halter or spaghetti strap styles make it impossible to wear a bra with the dress. The best quick fix is to add your own support. Doing this is inexpensive and will allow you to wear the sundress with confidence.

Instructions

    • 1

Put on a strapless bra, followed by the sundress. Make sure the bra is a color that will not show through the dress. Use numerous sewing pins to secure the dress to the bra, so that every part of the bra is attached.

    • 2

Carefully remove the sundress. Do not unhook the strapless bra when you take the sundress off.

    • 3

Thread a needle with some thread that matches the sundress. Turn the dress inside out and carefully sew the entire backstrap of the bra to the dress.

    • 4

Re-thread the needle and sew about an inch of the top of each bra cup to the dress. Do not sew the entire perimeter of the bra cups.

    • 5

Use a pair of scissors to snip away any stray threads and turn the dress right side out.
