How to Find Sound Drivers
Sound drivers are a type of software that is required for your computer's sound card to work. Sound drivers must correspond with the correct model of your sound card, operating system and computer. Generally when you purchase a computer the sound drivers come automatically installed, but sometimes you may need to download the software again. This could be due to an upgrade to your operating system or the sound drivers somehow becoming corrupt.

Determine what model sound card is on your computer. To do this go to the "Start" menu, then "Control Panel," then double click on the "System" icon. Click the "Hardware" tab, then "Device Manager." From there, locate "Sound, video and game controllers" and double click. Your sound card should be listed underneath.

Find out what your computer make is and what operating system you are running, then go to your computer manufacturer's website.

Look for a section on the main page that has a link to "Support." It may also say "Support & Drivers." Depending on the type of computer you are using the support section link may be in different places, but generally it is located right on the main page. Click on the link to take you to the support section.

Look for a link to download drivers. It should be separate from the other categories listed on this page. Once you have located it, click the link.

Look for the model of your computer. Click on the appropriate link. You will also want to make sure you are downloading the correct drives for your operating system. Then look for the model of your sound card. Once you have selected it you will be taken to the page to download your drivers. Follow the on-screen instructions on how to download and install.
