How to Draw a Three Toed Sloth
Three-toed sloths are endangered creatures who live in the rain forest. They spend almost all of their time in trees and boast the title of the world's slowest mammal. They somewhat resemble monkeys and have three long claws on each front foot, giving them their name. Drawing a three-toed sloth is done best by using lots of shading and working extra carefully on the distinct sloth features, such as the claws and face.

1
Use a pencil to draw a long bamboo or tree branch across a piece of paper. The three-toed sloth is almost always in a tree, so depicting it in its natural habitat will add authenticity to the drawing.
-
2
Draw a pair of three-clawed paws grasping the branch, one beneath the other. From here, slowly add arms to the claws. Three-toed sloth arms are very long and grow wider as they get closer to the shoulders. Use the side of the pencil to add fur-like shading.

3
Add a body to the arms. The three-toed sloth's body is sturdy and muscular, not slender. The legs are almost identical to the arms, but the feet do not have the three claws. Draw the legs wrapped around the bottom of the branch.

Refer to a photograph of a three-toed sloth to observe the distinct facial features and patterns. Most three-toed sloths have a white stripe that goes above each eye, across the forehead. Their eyes are round and black with dark fur patterns surrounding them. Their snouts are raised, and their lips are wide and resemble human lips. Use the side of the pencil to shade accordingly.
