Photoshop Wow! is a guidebook that users of Adobe Photoshop can use to learn the tools of the graphic design and photo-editing software program. The book includes a Photoshop Wow! CD that includes examples found within the book and also a number of plug-ins, filters and brushes that can be used to accomplish various tasks within Photoshop. For example, one plug-in included with Photoshop Wow! is a an action to automatically plate the subject of an image with gold. Photoshop Wow! is not installed like other programs and must be manually inserted into Photoshop.

Close Photoshop by pressing "Alt" and "F4" on a Windows PC or "Command" and "Q" on Mac OS X. Wait until Photoshop has closed completely before continuing installation.

Insert the Photoshop Wow! CD into your CD-ROM drive. If you are given the option, choose to open the CD in Windows Explorer or Finder.

Find the "Plug-ins" folder on the Photoshop Wow! CD. It is in the top level and will be easy to find.

Open the "Plug-ins" folder by double-clicking it.

Highlight all of the plug-in files that you wish to install. You may install all the plug-ins at once in you prefer. Right-click and choose the option "Copy."

Open the "Plug-ins" or "Plugins" folder in your Adobe Photoshop installation. It will typically be located in the "Program Files" folder on a Windows PC or the Applications folder in Mac OS X, and is usually a subfolder under "Adobe" or "Adobe Photoshop." If you are having difficulty finding it, search for "Photoshop."

Paste the plug-ins into the Photoshop "Plug-ins" folder by selecting "Edit" from the toolbar and clicking on "Paste."

Open the Photoshop application. Photoshop will automatically detect the existence of the new Photoshop Wow! plug-ins in the "Plug-ins" folder and will install them. The plug-ins will be immediately available for use under the "Filter" menu and in the new option "Photoshop Wow!"

Tips & Warnings
After you have pasted the Photoshop Wow! plug-ins into the Photoshop "Plug-ins" folder, you can safely remove the Photoshop Wow! CD and will not need to insert it again. If you would like to uninstall the plug-ins, return to your Photoshop "Plug-ins" folder and delete the plug-ins you have pasted. The next time you open Photoshop, the program will automatically remove the Photoshop Wow! plug-ins from the menu.
