Nero is a software that allows you to burn, edit and store video and audio files. Nero can help you to change file formats and to rip or copy files from discs. Upgrading Nero to the latest version is not difficult and might be worth the cost and effort if the latest version has a software feature that you want to use.

Open the web browser on your computer and navigate to Nero's homepage. It is easiest to upgrade Nero by starting here.

Click on "Upgrade." You will be redirected to the page offering the latest version of Nero.

Download Nero's serial number finder and follow the onscreen prompts to determine what the serial number is for your current version of Nero. Write down the serial number.

Enter your serial number into the appropriate box on Nero's upgrade page, then click, "Go."

Enter all information as prompted during the upgrade process. They will ask for your name, credit card number, address and email address.

Allow the upgrade download to continue on your computer, then follow the instructions on the installer. Once installation is completed, rebooting your computer will finish the upgrade process, and your computer will be running the latest version of Nero.
