How to Load a Cartridge into the Cricut Expression Die Cutting Machine

If you are a crafter, you may be a fan and user of the Cricut Expression die-cutting machine. The Expression is suited to making stencils, cutting vinyl, making t-shirt decals, and cutting traditional scrapbook shapes. You can create shapes, letters, symbols or numbers. To begin using the Cricut Expression die-cut machine, you must load a Cricut die-cutter cartridge.

      Turn the die-cutting machine on by pressing the power button. The machine lights will flash, and the display screen will display information about your die-cutting machine.

      Place the Cricut cartridge of your choice in the Cricut Expression die-cutting machine cartridge slot located in the lower right-hand corner of the front of the machine. The cartridge should snap into place once it is pressed into the cartridge slot.

      Remove the rubbery overlay from the cartridge packaging and place it over the keypad of the machine. You will now be able to see the symbols, letters, or numbers that you can cut using the Cricut Expression die-cutter cartridge.

      Load your paper into the Expression die-cut machine. Once you have placed the paper on the mat, press the "Load Paper" button on the machine to load your paper.

      Using the cartridge manual you can decide which items you would like to cut with your die cutter. Using the correct key combinations, enter the characters you would like to cut. Then press the "Cut" button.
