How to Set Up Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless Router with Comcast
Set up your Linksys WRT54G2 router to your Comcast cable Internet service to create a network for your wireless-enabled devices. The WRT54G2 uses the wireless-G protocol that supports transfer rates of up to 54 Mbps. The router is compatible with older wireless standards, so you don't have to upgrade older equipment to establish a connection with the signal.

Unplug the power cable from the back of your Comcast cable modem.

Insert the Ethernet cable into the "Internet" port on the rear of the modem. Plug the other end into the "Internet" port on the rear of the router.

Plug the power adapter for the router into an outlet and connect the adapter's cord to the router. Plug the power cable into the rear of the modem. Once the modem initializes, it will establish a connection to the Internet.

Connect your computer to one of the Ethernet ports on the router and open a Web browser. Type "192.128.1.1" into the address field and press Enter. Type "admin" into the "Password" field in the window that opens and click "OK."

Click the "Setup" tab in the configuration page that appears and click "Automatic Configuration - DHCP" in the "Internet Connection Type" menu. Click "Apply Settings" to complete the setup of your router.
