1
Exfoliate to remove dry skin cells. With a scrub that contains rounded grains or labeled specifically for the face and dry skin, gently scrub your face in a circular motion. Rinse well with warm, never hot, water. Start with a once a week exfoliation to avoid over scrubbing your skin. If you find your face tolerates that, but you've still got flaky skin, try a second exfoliation per week.

Moisturize twice a day with products that contain humectants, ingredients that help attract and hold moisture in the skin. Petrolatum, alpha-hydrox, hylauronic acid are all humectants. They attract moisture to the skin. Use a moisturizer after you cleanse your face in the morning and before you go to bed.

Use a moisturizing face mask once a week. The simplest is honey, just plain honey. Honey is a humectant and leaves the face soft and smooth. It's easiest to do this messy treatment in the bath. Simply slather your face with honey, relax for 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water, no soap necessary.

Hydrate from the inside by drinking eight to 10 glasses of water a day. Water helps keep skin supple and hydrated, along with keeping the rest of your body healthy. Don't count caffeinated sodas or coffee in your daily total. Caffeine is a diuretic and pulls fluid from your cells.
