How to Enable Auto Complete on a Samsung SYNC

AT&Ts Samsung Sync (SGH-A707) does have an auto complete program for messaging; however, most users do not know about it because it isn't set as the "out-of-box" default. Fortunately, you can tweak your settings to enable to the auto complete function. The Sync uses an internal "linguistics dictionary" to offer auto complete suggestions, but you can add any word to it that you want.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your phone and navigate to the menu using the soft keys.

    • 2

Select "Messaging" from the menu options. Scroll to "Message Settings," and then "Text Settings."

    • 3

Select "Input Method." Choose the input method labeled "T9." Press "End" to confirm. Your Sync will automatically offer suggestions for completing your word; to accept a suggestion, navigate down to it and select "Space."

Tips & Warnings

  • When changing the input method, you can select "T9-abc, T9 Abc or T9 ABC." The "abc" format following the character "T9" defines your message format. If you want all lower-case, select "abc." If you want initial caps, select "Abc."

  • If a word you are typing does not "auto-complete," press the "0+" button on your keypad to add it to the internal dictionary; it will automatically display the next time you begin entering it.
