      Take the speakers out of the box. Be careful not cut the speakers' cords.

      Position the speakers in place on your desk or other hard, flat surface.

      String the speakers cords to your computer.

      Insert the green 1/8-inch male connector into the green 1/8-inch female audio port on the back of your desktop. Insert it into the headphone jack if you are using a laptop.

      Insert the black USB connector into a free USB port on the back of your desktop. The USB ports on a laptops are generally found on the side of the machine.

      Press the middle button on the left speaker to turn on the power.

      Twist the middle button on the left speaker clockwise in order to turn the volume up.

      Open an audio file on your computer to test the speakers.

Tips & Warnings

  • The USB connection does not carry audio for the HP Multimedia Speaker System. The only purpose that the USB cord serves is to supply power to the speakers. Audio is only carried through the 1/8-inch audio connector.
