How to Make an Indoor Clothesline

Indoor clotheslines are not only environmentally friendly, but can also come in handy if you don't have a dryer available. There are a few different types of indoor clotheslines, but the easiest and most convenient by far is the shower rod indoor clothesline. Using this method allows you to dry the clothes whenever you'd like without drilling holes into your walls to string up a rope clothesline. You can also remove the shower rod clothesline when not in use. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Position the twist-on shower rod directly over your bathtub or shower. Place one end of the rod solidly against the wall.

    • 2

Twist the free end of the shower rod clockwise until it is pressed against the opposite wall. Tighten so that the rod is sturdy.

    • 3

Hang any wet clothes on the shower rod on hangers. The water will drip from the clothes into the bathtub or shower. Allow the clothes to completely dry.

    • 4

Remove the clothes and hangers. Take the shower rod off the wall by turning the end counter-clockwise until it becomes loose enough to pull away from the wall. You can re-install the shower rod for use as an indoor clothesline whenever necessary.
