The growth in the popularity of the Internet has been a boon for house hunters. Whereas in the past you would need a real estate agent in order to gain access to property information, now you can usually find just what you are looking for on some of the bigger real estate websites. You can search for homes by price, by size and by location. If you happen to know just the name of the street, you can easily find all the homes for sale on that street and even streets in the general vicinity.
Go to zillow.com.
Type the name of the street, the city and the state in the text box labeled “Find Homes.”
Click “Go." On the new page there will be an aerial map of the area in which the street is located. In the top left corner of the map, click on “Street." This will bring up a street map.
Click on the plus sign on the left of the map to zoom in one level. This will bring up the street you are looking for, with red arrows designating each home for sale on that street and surrounding streets. The price of the home is listed as well.
Click on one of the arrows and a small box will appear containing more information about that house. By clicking on the address of the home, in blue, you will be taken to another page, with photos (if available) of the home and additional information. There is also contact information for the seller of the home, either the agent or the owner if it is for sale by owner.
