Instructions

  1. Going to the Bank

    • 1

Go to your personal bank with your paycheck and sign (endorse) the check on the back. You can go inside or through the drive through.

    • 2

Fill out the deposit slip for your account. If you go inside the bank there will be a table with choices of deposit and withdrawal slips. If going through the drive through, press the "Call" button and request a deposit slip for your type of account. Write the amount you are depositing, your account number, your name and the check number on your paycheck.

    • 3

Take the completed deposit slip and your paycheck to the bank teller. If you are going through the drive through, place the check and deposit slip into the container, place the container in the tube and press the "Send" button.

    • 4

Get your receipt from the bank teller. After the bank teller processes the deposit she will hand you a receipt, or send it to you through the tube if you are at the drive through. The receipt will show you how much you deposited, and depending on your bank's procedures, it will also show your account balance.

    Using the ATM

    • 5

Place the paycheck with your signature on the back and your deposit slip in the envelope provided at the ATM. You can use any ATM that accepts deposits. You don't necessarily have to go to your bank's ATM.

    • 6

Fill out the requested information on the envelope: Your name, account number and name of your bank.

    • 7

Insert or slide your ATM card into the machine.

    • 8

Type in your Personal Identification Number (PIN), then select the deposit option. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish your deposit through the ATM.

Tips & Warnings

  • Most employers offer direct deposit. This allows the employer to automatically deposit your pay into one of your bank accounts. Talk to your employer to find out more about direct deposit.

  • When making a deposit at an ATM that does not belong to your bank, bank fees may apply. The fees vary, and you may get charged by the bank whose ATM you are using as well as your bank.
