How to Find a ZIP Code With a Street Address
Before you put that business letter or birthday card in the mailbox, make sure you've included the recipient's five-digit ZIP code on the envelope. The U.S. Postal Service requests this information to help make sure that your mail is accurately sorted and delivered. ZIP codes, which have been in use since 1963, identify by number where a letter or package is being sent. The nine-number ZIP +4 code defines areas even more specifically. If you don't know a ZIP code, you can find it easily if you know the recipient's street address.
