How to Fix the Windows 7 Low Volume Problem

Easily fix the "low volume" bug in Windows 7.

Windows 7 has a frustrating bug – at times, the volume drops dramatically for no apparent reason, and no matter how high you turn the volume, the sound remains at a very low level. It turns out this problem is caused by a "feature" in Windows 7 that is intended to soften the volume when communication activity is detected. Unfortunately, it activates at other times as well.   Open the Windows "Start" menu and click "Control Panel."

  Click on "Sound."

  Click the "Communcations" tab in the dialogue window that opens. Click the "Do Nothing" radio button.

  Click "OK" to save the change, and then click the "X" in the upper right corner of the Control Panel window to close it.

do top 4 steps and restart your comp, works just fine for me now : ).
