A government grant is a financial award from the government that does not have to be paid back. Government grants are typically awarded to businesses and organizations to carry out a public purpose or fulfill a community need. For example, a business that provides affordable health care to low income areas might be a likely candidate for a government grant.
There are many grants available for a variety of different reasons. The only way to find out if a government grant is available for your new business is to search their database.
