How to Clean Pergola Floors

Remove all furniture, including patio sets and accent tables, from the pergola space. Temporarily remove outdoor rugs and potted plants.

Rake over stone or crushed rock pergola floors with a level head rake to clean the floor. Begin at one corner of the pergola patio and gently slide the rake over the stones to smooth out the space and remove any unwanted debris like twigs and branches. Remove larger remaining debris such as branches, by hand, and discard.

Sweep wood and concrete pergola floors with a broom to remove dirt and debris. Remove tough stains with three parts warm water and one part detergent.

Dip a sponge or rag into the sudsy detergent mixture and scrub the stains back and forth until cleaned. Repeat this process for heavily stained pergola floors and until the floors are clean.

Rinse the floors with water to remove remaining detergent mixture and grime. Allow to dry thoroughly before bringing back outdoor furniture and accessories to the space.

Keep an extra bag of crushed rock or mulch on hand to freshen up the pergola floor.
For touch stains on stone pergola floors like concrete, add one tablespoon of vinegar to the detergent mixture to help remove the stain.
